As we approach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) target date of 2015, we should think about the post-2015 global development agenda.
The Alliance of Italian Cooperatives (ACI), in partnership with the Directorate General for Development Cooperation (DGCS) of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has organised a series of events on the role of cooperative enterprises in international cooperation.
On October 31st, 'Growing Cooperatives Globally - Cooperative Contributions to International Development' meeting will take place in Cape Town, South Africa. This meeting is framed as part of the activities within the Cooperatives Europe Development Platform (CEDP) and is organised in collaboration with ICA Africa.
On 5 June, the seminar "People-centred businesses: Making Supply Chains work for Small Producers" will take place at the European Parliament. Organized by Cooperatives Europe and the Fair Trade Advocacy Office, the seminar will aim to create a much-needed space for discussion around the risks and opportunities of the private sector working in development.
On May 7th, the workshop on EU advocacy for cooperatives will take place in Istanbul. Some of the topics this workshop will include cooperative priorities and support strategy or appropriate monitoring and impact assessment.
