Who will be Lobbyist for Change 2017?

Do you know someone who has successfully defended human rights? Someone who deserves an award for fighting poverty?

The human rights activist Rachael Mwikali Mueni from Kenya was the first to receive the We Effect award Lobbyist for Change in Visby during the Almedalen Week 2016.  The award has been important to Rachael and to her organization and gained publicity in both Sweden and in Kenya. Now the nomination for Lobbyist for Change 2017 has opened and runs until the end of February. Help us spread the word about the award!

About the award:

Lobbyist for Change 2017 goes to an individual who has achieved concrete results through lobbying, either in terms of reducing poverty or strengthening human rights.
The achievement of the candidate should be such that others can learn from it or find inspiration in it.
The prize sum of US $ 10,000 will go to the organisation / campaign / network / project behind the awarded candidate.
Any civil society organisation or NGO worldwide can nominate candidates, including employees or associates of the nominating organisation.

María Teresa Fernández Ampié, president of Coordinadora de Mujeres Rurales, Nicaragua, 
KG Hammar, former Archbishop of the Church of Sweden, 
Nicklas Lundblad, head of public policy and government relations at Google Inc, 
Grace Mtonga, president of Civic Forum on Housing and Habitat, Zambia, 
Birgitta Ohlsson, member of parliament and former Minister of European Union Affairs, Sweden 
Anneli Rogeman (chair), CEO at We Effect, Sweden
