Project Objectives

The expected result is to increase access to adequate housing among the participating communities in Bugogwa ward by 2016.

Summary

The project will work with the fishing communities around the lake to improve their housing conditions.  This will be achieved through promotion of cooperative housing and use of the existing microfinance facility to create a housing product that will enable the members to save for new housing or improve the existing.  Further, the project will identify land issues affecting the participating communities through conducting community dialogues  and thereafter form linkages with  experts on land issues with the objective of ensure secure tenure.  Further capacity of the participating communities will be built so that they become aware of their land rights and can articulate the same.
