Summary

Lebanon presents a good legal framework as regards support given to the education and training of disabled students, legislation which unfortunately does not always translate into concrete action in daily school activities.

For this reason, although the country has avant-guard legislation which guarantees equal opportunity to the disabled, including the right to education, the mechanisms necessary to the concrete application of this legislation are lacking.

This integration project aims to favor an improvement of the cultural, educational, and operative skills of school staff (training-for-trainers) on the one hand, while stimulating related institutions, civil society, and entire communities to take an active part in the process of social inclusion of disabled children.
