Summary

Women’s Increased Claim Making Capacities through socio-economic Empowerment programme responds to Women for Change strategic objective to ensure women and girls have increased access to and control over productive resources, especially land by 2017 that the is conceived. It is aimed at enhancing empowerment of women and men on social and economic issues through assisting them to increase their income and overcome socio-economic and development barriers. The programme is targeting 162,500 women including young women and 87,500 men including young men. Included in these target beneficiaries are traditional leaders namely headpersons and chiefs. The programme is focusing to improve the quality of women and men’s lives, to enable them to reach their human potentials and further contribute to the development of their communities and the nation at large. Expected results areas are 1) capacity building and institutional strengthening 2) alternative livelihoods productivity. We effect support to the programme started in 2013 focussing on institutional strenghtening.
