Project Objectives

Support small producers of coffee to help improve their production techniques and business and their access to markets

Summary

The project was created to support small producers of coffee in the Municipality of Santa Maria de Pantasma, so that they could improve their production techniques and commercial access to national and international markets. Thanks to the project infrastructure was created and training to carry out the initial processing of products, ensuring a safe market for local producers, based on ethical and solidarity. The project has helped to consolidate a model of sustainable development, with special reference to the role of women, promoting the cultivation of organic coffee, supporting activities of micro credit to help farmers in distress. Beneficiaries of the project, 1,400 people who make up 278 families of the members of the cooperatives membership of UCA (Unit of Santa Maria de Pantasma).
