Project Objectives

Strengthen the capacity of cooperatives and cooperative associations to promote inclusive and sustainable growth, by supporting the rural producers in the County of Bam

Summary

The SPRING project (Strengthening CSO’s Participation for a Responsible and INclusive agriculture Growth through the development of the rural cooperatives), pursues the General Objective of enhancing the Iranian CSO’s contribution to governance and development process. The project will contribute to this general objective through a participative approach having the Specific Objective to “Strengthen the capacity of cooperatives and cooperative associations to promote inclusive and sustainable growth, by supporting the rural producers in the County of Bam”.

Those Objectives will be pursued through the attainment of 3 Expected Results which are strictly interrelated. As first the Rural Cooperatives’ capacity, professionalism, competences(ER3) will be improved, in terms of providing services for the economic empowerment of the producers, with a particular focus on women and youth. At the same time, their capacity to participate in and contribute to policy dialogue and accountability processes at local and national level, will be improved, through a mechanisms for consultation, coordination and cooperation on the rural development strategy of the County (ER1).The dialogue will allow elaborating, testing and implementing a strategic and innovative development plans for the identified territory through a Multi-actor partnership (ER2). All those results will finally also spill over into an improved quality, sustainability and resilience of livelihood in the selected territory.
