Project Objectives
Strengthen initiative of self-employment in cultural and social to promote employment of young people and women in marginal areas in Tunis
Summary
The regions of Siliana and Jendouba are among the poorest in Tunisia in 2012 were only created a few hundred new jobs. The population demands urgent action, but the response of institutions is virtually absent. The project aims to promote the social economy at young unemployed Jendouba and accompany groups pre-cooperative of women weavers in Siliana to create decent jobs and consolidate economic activities in cooperative form, moving towards economies of scale, the enhancement and higher quality of local products and solidarity between producers. The activities include the creation of a study on the local economy and the promotion of start-up of cooperatives through training courses on cooperative and the management of a fund with a credit monitoring Legacoop. Moreover a Legacoop expert visited the two regions to implemented the training of a trainer’s team and it is underway a comparative analysis of the Italian and Tunisian legislation and a workshop it is scheduled to promote the exchange concerning the legislation framework for some specific cooperative sector (workers and production, social cooperative, workers by out.
