Project Objectives

1. improve the quality of teaching and increase the amount of students enrolled in schools in Pancuai, Panawac, Cueibet Girls', Cueibet Boys', Abiriu Girls', Mayath, Abyei and Chok Marial Akeng through training / support of teachers and the purchase of useful and responsive materials for teaching; 2. reduce food insecurity and improve the diet of the students through the cultivation and the subsequent consumption of vegetables and fruits planted in the school garden. In this way, thanks to the introduction of mineral salts and vitamins, their state of health can improve and many diseases can be prevented; 3. promote training on hygiene / health and the importance of leading a varied diet to improve the general health of the students.

Summary

In 2008 Cephas has decided to launch a project of support at a distance (SAD). In 2011, Cephas has worked in 8 elementary schools: Pancuai and Panawac in the county of Rumbek East and Cueibet Girls', Cueibet Boys', Abiriu Girls', Mayath, Abyei and Chok Marial Akeng County Cueibet. The activities carried out in 2011: 1. Creation of school gardens to 8 Cueibet Pancuai, Panawac, Cueibet Girls', Cueibet Boys', Abiriu Girls', Mayath, Abyei and Chok Marial Akeng promoting the nutritional aspects related to the cultivation and consumption of fruits and vegetables; - Construction of a latrine in elementary school Mayath; - Creation of a library of 800 volumes in the school of Abyei Cok; - Organization of sanitation campaigns in 8 schools and their near villages on important issues (contrast of malaria, Guinea worm, of chronic diarrhea, the maternal and infant mortality); - Integration of of 3 school teachers' wages in Pancuai; - Distribution of school supplies for about 3,000 children (pens, pencil cases, notebooks, books, pencils, colors, atlases, maps, globes, kits mathematics) in 8 schools in which we operate.
