Promotion of local economic activity to alleviate causes and consequences of internal displacement in Colombia
Project Objectives
The aim of the project is to provide employment opportunities for internally displaced persons and prevent further displacement, to combat poverty and finally ease access to financial education and inclusion via selected Savings- and Credit Cooperatives.
Summary
The project works with internally displaced persons who start the joint commercialization of agricultural production such as fruits or vegetables. Main partner is the Foundation of Cooperativa Financiera CFA in the department of Antioquia which provides consultancy and training to the groups and helps them in getting access to the market via commercial partners in fair conditions. Extended to Fundacion Coogranada (Antioquia as well) and Fundacion Coofisam (Huila).
