Project Objectives

Starting microenterprises support

Summary

Solidea’s support has enabled the Minka Wasi association to implement a micro-credit program in the slums that belong to the area of Tablada de Lurin (Southern Cone of Lima). The program responded to a serious situation where 87% of slums’ active population slums is without a worthy job, in a context of extreme poverty. The project has been on education and labor solidarity. A good number of people could benefit from microfinance, starting microenterprise activities or consolidating and maturing early cooperative experiences from which we expect significant results on the social front. In particular, 2 production cooperatives in the field of artisans were formed who need to rely on loans for the purchase of equipment and materials.
