Summary

The Programme is a new overall Programme of FONPA's for the period 2014-2016. The overarching goal is to contribute to the improved livelihood of the smallholder's cotton farmers and the development of the cotton sector. The Programme objective is to empower FONPA to protect the rights and advance the interest of smallholder's cotton farmers to improve their livelihoods. Expected outcome results are,a) Strengthened capacity of FONPA to effectively represent its members and provide member services, b) Improved production, productivity and access to markets, and c) Increased influence on agricultural policy formulation by FONPA. The target group is 7 Provincial Associations, 304 local associations with a total of 11 695 members. Indirectly the target group comprises of approxemately 300 000 cotton producers in Mozambique.
