Project Objectives

The project aims to promote the cooperative housing model in Sri Lanka, which will benefit the rural and poor communities.  While promoting of the cooperative habitat scheme, the project will also seek the sustainable enterprise development, women empowerment and leadership and promotion of gender equality.

Summary

The proposed pilot project promoting the cooperative housing model will be implemented by two partners: PALM foundation and CDF. The housing models will be constructed in the rural and plantation sectors. It is expected to have the collaboration of the Plantation Human Development Trust and Indian High Commission of Sri Lanka as well.
