Project Objectives

To strengthen the institutional and financial capacity of smallholder cooperatives / unions to increase production and productivity of members and their collective service and business activities in five districts of Arsi Zone – Hitosa, Tiyo, Lode Hitosa, Arsi Robe, and Digelu and Tijo – through scaling up innovations and best agricultural practices.

Summary

The project is desgined to support existing cooperatives to exploit their potentials in terms of widening their activities through application of modern technologies and scaling up of innovations and best practices to boost smallholders’ production and productivity. Moreover, the project  supports the cooperatives and unions in business and value chain development in addition to their traditional role of supplying chemical fertilizers and improved seeds.
