Promotion and consolidation of cooperatives for local economic development
Summary
The project is developed in line with the activities already implemented by Legacoop Emilia -Romagna in the cooperation program " Proximo Brasil - Five Italian regions for the Integrated Local Development in Brazil," of which the Emilia-Romagna Region is the leader-partner for actions related to cooperatives. The activities will be carried out by Innovacoop Ltd., a company owned by Legacoop ER and some local structures and sectoral Legacoop which will provide the coaching and technical assistance in three areas of work : i) the creation of Observatory data on the Brazilian cooperatives movement at the National Secretariat of Social Economy of the Ministry of Labour and Employment Brazilian, ii) development of a system of Guarantee Funds for access to credit, iii ) organization of the supply chain of fruit and vegetable producers of Greater Curitiba. Interventions are aimed at the transfer of know-how and good practices developed in the Emilia - Romagna Region, in order to enable pilot projects on the three areas of activity.
Other activities implemented within this project: Participation of COOPERFIDI expert in the Brazilian Forum on the financial guarantee system (Foz do IGUACU), June 2014 and starting of a collaboration with National SEBRAE on the issue of financial guarantee consortia; implementation of a training course on Italian cooperatives in San Paulo in collaboration with the METHODIST University, April 2014; Participation of the person in charge of Social cooperatives in a workshop devoted to a comparative analysis on social cooperatives in Italy and Brazil (May 2015).
