Project Objectives

The project aims to contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic and environmental and cultural protection  of populations of Middle Amazonas (Amazonas State - Brazil) through a participatory model of sustainable development that integrates conservation of natural resources (water and forest), productive activities, eco-friendly and community tourism.

Summary

Development of eco-friendly production activities and marketing support - In the objective of combining income-generating activities for the benefit of local communities and reduce the pressure on natural resources, will be provided on two areas:

  1. Start of Agro-Forestry and Silvicultural system
  2. Sustainable Fisheries and fish processing
  3. Conversion of forest products

Support to eco-tourism Community - The project aims to strengthen the community-based eco-tourism as an alternative income for families in the two areas of intervention and as a source of financing of the activities of environmental preservation
