Project Objectives

MVIWATA has sufficient organisational, functional and financial capacity at the project and national levels,Smallholder farmers have adopted sustainable land management practices,Small-scale farmers have increased income through markets and financial services access,Increased lobbying and advocacy capacity of MVIWATA members, leaders and staff,and Awareness on gender, HIV/AIDS and climate change have been created to MVIWATA members at national and district levels.

Summary

The project aims to improve the livelihood of smallholder farm families/entrepreneurs living around Lake Nyasa, through increased access to improved management of small businesses, improved farming practices and through provision of rural viable financial services as a contribution to ongoing similar initiatives to poverty reduction.
