Project Objectives

A 3 year strategic plan was developed. 5 livestock commodity associations were established. 873 study circle groups benefitted from the programme while 6,000 study circle booklets were produced and distributed. Farmers benefitted from various trainings like value chain, gender and HIV and Aids. 4 Provincial and 18 annual general meetings were held. 100 farmers benefitted from look and learn exchange visits and stakeholder linkage meetings.

Summary

Zimbabwe Farmers Alliance Trust (ZFAT) was established in 2011 as a vehicle for collaboration between Zimbabwe Farmers Union (ZFU) and Commercial Farmers Union (CFU) towards recovery and development of the agricultural sector in Zimbabwe. We Effect’s support to ZFAT commenced in June 2012 and aims partly for the establishment of livestock commodity associations and a ZFAT strategic plan.
