Project Objectives

The project is expected to enhance access to land by women. This will be realized through sensitization of land tribunals and other government officials to uphold gender equality in their boards. Through paralegal services, access to justice for women will also be enhanced.

Summary

The project supports equality in land access rights for both men and women. The focus is mainly on indigent women who are mostly marginalized due to the strongly entrenched partriarchy. Sensitization and empowerment of women on their land rights is a critical component of the project in addition to training paralegals to enhance access to justice for vulnerable women whose land rights are violated.
