Implementation of ZLA strategic plan programme
Project Objectives
The goal for We Effect’s support is to strengthen ZLA’s institutional capacity to effectively and efficiently coordinate activities addressing land issues for poor and vulnerable people including lobby and advocacy activities and activities that increase skills and knowledge by communities to understand and exercise their land rights.
Summary
The Zambia Land Alliance Strategic Plan 2014 - 2017 Programme is a successor of the 2009 - 2013 Strategic Plan Programme and is an overall Programme for its activities. The overall goal is to contribute to improved security of tenure for sustainable development and secure livelihoods by the end of 2017. The expected outcomes from the programme are, a) Strengthened land tenure security of people living in rural, urban and per-urban areas,b) Effective participation, equality and justice for poor and vulnerable communities in land and natural resource governance,c) Strengthened capacity of ZLA and civil society partners to provide support to poor and vulnerable communities to respond to land governance issues. The direct target group 8 affilaited nationa civil society organisations and 7 District Land Alliances with affiliated membership consisting of District Farmers Associatons and other local CSO's. The indirect target group are poor and vulnerable communities living in the 7 targeted districts.
