Project Objectives

The goal of We Effect collaboration with SACAU is to strengthen SACAUs capacity to influence regional and international agricultural policies and programmes through capacity building support to national farmers' organisations to engage in lobby and advocacy.

Summary

The Multi-Annual Action Plan 2010 - 2014 is an on-going programme that addresses the Strategic framework of SACAU. The over arching goal is to create a vibrant, prosperous and sustainable farming sector that ensures food security and contributes to economic growth. The Programme Objective is to voice farmers' interest and concerns on regional, continental and global matters, and to promote and ensure strong and effective farmers' organisations in all countries in Southern Africa. The expected main outcome results are: a) Regional, continental and global agricultural policies and programmes influenced by SACAU, b) effective service delivery to farmers and other stakeholders provided by SACAU and FOs in the region, c) FOs and other stakeholders using SACAU information in strategic decision making. The target group of the programme is national farmers organisations in the Southern African region.
