IMPORTANT: The 2020 General Assembly is POSTPONED

Due to the current climate of uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2020 Cooperatives Europe General Assembly will not take place in the format we envisioned for it.

Together with the Wales Co-operative Centre we have decided to postpone the conference until 2021, still to be hosted in Cardiff, Wales, where you will be able to once again come together to foster strong cooperative links with partners and members across Europe.

In the meantime the 2020 General Assembly will take a modified form in Brussels around June, limited only to the statutory business and gathering a limited number of delegates. The exact format and date will be precised as soon as possible.

We apologise for the inconvenience and the uncertainty of these days, and thank our hosts in Cardiff for managing the extraordinary situation.

Finally, we would like to extend our well wishes to all our members and thank all those on the frontline of the crisis.

‘For the people, by the people: Cooperatives create an inclusive economy’

The impact of cooperatives in isolated regions, cities and various communities across all sectors, including energy, housing and services, will be presented through case studies from across Europe. The other side of the coin or the support framework for positive local change and cooperative development will look at enabling partnerships with public authorities, citizen support and cooperation between cooperatives.

Participants will be able to visit local cooperatives to better understand their local impact in Wales, but also experience local cooperative products in the framework of the event.

Use the hashtag #CoopsEU20 to connect with other participants and start the discussion already today!
